This Privacy Policy describes how Somnio ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Somnio application ("App"). By using Somnio, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you register and use Somnio:

• Account information: username, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
• Dream journal entries: the text content and voice recordings you submit.
• Time Capsule content: voice messages, attached photos, documents, and scheduled delivery details you create.
• Subscription and billing status: your subscription tier, managed via Google Play. We do not process or store payment card details.
• Device information: device token for push notification delivery.
• Usage data: basic app interaction data used to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and personalise the Somnio app experience, including AI-powered dream interpretation.
• Deliver Time Capsule messages to recipients at the scheduled date.
• Send push notifications you have opted into.
• Manage your subscription and account.
• Respond to support requests sent to support@trysomnio.app.
• Improve the reliability and features of the App.

3. AI Processing

Dream entries you submit for interpretation are sent to an AI language model for processing. This processing is used solely to generate your interpretation. We do not use your dream content to train AI models. Dream content is transmitted securely and is not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary for processing.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Microsoft Azure infrastructure. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Access to user data is restricted to authorised systems and personnel only.

Voice recordings and attachments are stored in Azure Blob Storage with access controlled by signed, time-limited URLs.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party services, where necessary to operate the App:

• Microsoft Azure - cloud hosting, storage, and communication services.
• Google Firebase - push notification delivery.
• Google Play - subscription and in-app purchase management.
• Azure OpenAI - AI interpretation of dream content.

Time Capsule messages are delivered to recipient email addresses you specify. Recipients receive only the content you have chosen to include in your capsule.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and journal entries will be removed within 30 days. Time Capsules that have already been delivered to recipients cannot be recalled from the recipient's email after delivery.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Somnio is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or by email. Continued use of Somnio after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
